World Oceans Day BIOENDO in Action

World Oceans Day takes place annually on the 8th of June. The concept was originally proposed in 1992 by Canada’s International Center for Ocean Development and the Ocean Institute of Canada at the Earth Summit – UN Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro.

When mention public health risk, ocean is an important part. The relationship between ocean health and human health is increasingly close. Someone may surprise that microorganism in ocean could be employed to detect COVID-19! Meanwhile, vaccine is the critical step to vanquish COVID-19. But endotoxin detection is a step which should not be skipped to ensure the safety of vaccine.

Referring to endotoxin detection, amebocyte lysate from horseshoe crab is the one substance which could used to detect endotoxin currently. Horseshoe crab, a sea-born animal, is therefore important.

BIOENDO, the first amebocyte lysate manufacturer in China, always attaches importance to ocean animal protection. On this year’s World Oceans Day, BIOENDO held series activities to propagate related protection information, hoping to make contribution to ocean animal protection.
